Wisconsin Paper Council Virtual Environmental Conference

We have a great agenda lined up for you!  You will be welcomed to the Conference by WPC President Scott Suder, WPC Water Quality Chair John Piotrowski (PCA), and WPC Air Committee Chair, Lisa Bauer-Lotto (Green Bay Packaging).

You will hear from Environmental Protection Agency Region V Administrator Kurt Thiede.  Regional Administrator Kurt Thiede oversee EPA’s largest regional office.  States in Region V include Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and Minnesota, along with 35 Tribal Nations. 

In addition, the Honorable Preston Cole, Secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR), will also be participating in the Conference.  Secretary Cole will be sharing his insights as to key environmental issues facing Wisconsin. 

We will also have two of WDNR’s top regulators presenting updates on their respective programs. Program Director Gail Good, head of WDNR’s Air Management Program, will be providing an air update. Moreover, Program Director Adrian Stocks, leader of WDNR’s Water Quality Program will also be providing an update.  This Program includes the WPDES Permitting Program. 

Furthermore, you will hear from a panel of experts on a variety of PFAS topics. Mr. John Cuthbertson, AECOM, will be addressing key PFAS regulatory drivers, how these regulations may impact industrial facilities, and how industry is responding. Dr. Charles Gantzer, Barr Engineering, will be focusing on potential land application issues. In addition, Mr. Jeff Ramey, will be discussing the new Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) reporting requirements for PFAS.  Thresholds have been established for 172 PFAS compounds that must be tracked for the entirety of the Reporting Year 2020. 

One of Wisconsin’s top environmental attorneys, Todd Palmer, Michael, Best & Friedrich, will also be providing you with an environmental legal and enforcement update. Also, WPC’s Patrick Stevens will be providing you with an environmental policy update.
